Municipal Symposium on Grain Drying Mechanization Convened

To address the adverse impact of this year’s unfavorable weather on grain production, and to further advance the mechanization of grain drying in our municipality, a Municipal Symposium on Grain Drying Mechanization was convened on June 1 at Anhui Zhengyang Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. The event was integrated with the ongoing "Four Deliveries and One Service" Double-Thousand Initiative, which aims to serve the real economy by delivering new development concepts, supportive policies, innovative projects, and essential production factors.
Mr. Zhou Sheng, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Municipal Agricultural Committee and Director of the Agricultural Machinery Bureau, presided over the symposium. Attendees included representatives from the Municipal Grain Bureau, the Municipal Postal Savings Bank, the Bank of Communications Lu'an Branch, and the Municipal Guarantee Company, as well as heads of select grain drying machinery manufacturers and agricultural machinery professional cooperatives.
Participants exchanged insights on the current status of grain drying machinery production, sales, and utilization. They offered targeted recommendations to address existing challenges in the municipality's grain drying mechanization sector and engaged in matchmaking activities to facilitate cooperation between banks and cooperatives, banks and enterprises, and cooperatives and enterprises.
Attendees emphasized that grain drying mechanization represents the final critical link in achieving full-process mechanization of grain production. Advancing this sector not only effectively prevents losses such as sprouting and mold caused by consecutive rainy days and other disastrous weather but also enhances grain quality, storage stability, and processability. It further eliminates contamination risks associated with traditional open-air sun drying. By shifting away from passive dependence on weather conditions, grain drying mechanization minimizes post-harvest losses and serves as a vital prerequisite for ensuring high yields with preserved quality. It is an urgent necessity for safeguarding food security, increasing farmers' incomes, and completing the full mechanization of grain production—a priority that has become particularly acute this year.
In his address, Director Zhou noted that the municipality’s grain drying machinery manufacturing has achieved significant scale and national influence. In the recently released National Grain Drying Machinery Quality Survey by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, products from local manufacturers Zhengyang and Chenyu ranked among the top nationwide, leading in several key indicators. He urged local manufacturers to strengthen industry self-discipline to prevent cutthroat competition; intensify R&D efforts to drive product transformation and upgrading in line with green development requirements; and enhance after-sales service and training based on market and user needs. He called on financial institutions to continue supporting the sector through active bank-enterprise and cooperative-enterprise partnerships to alleviate financing difficulties for manufacturers and capital shortages for cooperatives. As the competent regulatory authority, the Municipal Agricultural Machinery Bureau committed to systematically reviewing all issues and suggestions raised at the symposium: matters within its mandate will be addressed immediately, while those requiring inter-departmental coordination will be communicated through tiered, multi-channel mechanisms and escalated to higher authorities as appropriate. He concluded by encouraging enterprises and cooperatives to leverage their respective strengths, form synergies, and jointly propel the comprehensive development of the entire grain drying mechanization industry.
