Grain is an indispensable material for human survival and development, and its importance is self-evident. However, due to climate and environmental factors, grain drying has long been a persistent challenge. How can this critical bottleneck be resolved? Anhui Zhengyang Machinery Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Jin'an Economic Development Zone, has provided the answer. On February 28, reporters visited the company to uncover the technological code behind its nationwide bestseller.
Founded in 2011, Anhui Zhengyang Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. covers an area of 130 mu with a total floor space of 50,000 square meters and employs more than 250 staff. As a specialized Chinese manufacturer integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales, and after-sales service for low-temperature circulating grain dryers and energy-efficient hot-air furnaces, the company has prioritized technological innovation in recent years, consistently allocating over 7% of its annual revenue to R&D. Li Yongjiu, the company’s CFO, explained that through industry-academia-research collaboration with universities and years of technical breakthroughs, the "5H Top-and-Bottom Auger-Free" dryer series launched in 2015 was met with strong market response, rapidly becoming a nationwide hit. Notably, from 2016 onward, the company posted annual output value and sales revenue exceeding 100 million yuan for four consecutive years. In 2022, while industry-wide sales declined year-on-year, Zhengyang Machinery alone achieved growth of over 40% compared to 2021. The company set a new record in 2023, with annual production and sales of various drying equipment surpassing 2,100 units and generating 310 million yuan in revenue.
In the company’s production workshop, reporters observed multiple models of the "5H Top-and-Bottom Auger-Free" dryer series, with capacities ranging from just over ten tons to several dozen tons. "The model you’re looking at is the 5H-30B top-and-bottom auger-free dryer; this single product now accounts for 50% of total national output," Li Yongjiu told reporters. Compared with conventional dryers under equivalent conditions, Zhengyang’s "5H Top-and-Bottom Auger-Free" series offers seven major advantages: lower breakage rate, lower failure rate, lower brown rice rate, energy and cost savings, faster drying, faster discharge, and simpler operation. These features have made it highly popular among grain processing enterprises, traders, large-scale growers, and family farm operators. The product was awarded the "Gold Award" by the organizing committee of the 18th China International Grain & Oil Products and Equipment Technology Exhibition and Trade Fair, marking another breakthrough in domestic grain dryer technology. From an obscure startup with just dozens of employees and annual output value below 20 million yuan at its founding, Zhengyang Machinery has grown into the industry’s national sales leader. Under the leadership of Chairman Zhang Weifa, the company has achieved leapfrog development through innovative products and premium services, earning commendation from the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government at the city’s "First Meeting After Spring Festival" for two consecutive years.
"Right after receiving the award, I took the opportunity of our 2024 Sales Mobilization Conference and Installation & After-Sales Deployment Conference to immediately convey the meeting’s spirit to both management and frontline staff, encouraging everyone to redouble their efforts and achieve new milestones," Zhang Weifa stated. He added that in the coming period, the company will focus intensively on its full range of dryer series and drying accessories, further improve product quality and after-sales service, expand market reach, and grow its domestic and international market share. The goal is to achieve an output value of 500 million yuan by 2025, contributing greater Zhengyang strength to safeguarding national food security.
